Palladium is a young metal in terms of jewellery. It has only recently been acknowledged as a ‘precious metal’, and received a compulsory hallmark from the Goldsmiths Assay Office on January 1st 2010.
Palladium is a Platinum group metal (PGM), having the same natural white colour, but with a slightly lower density.
Similarly to platinum it is found in the UK predominantly with 950 purity, but again can be mixed as low as 500. (see hallmark section)
Like Platinum, Palladium does not tarnish with age but will dull in shine if worn regularly. Once again, this can be rectified with a simple polish.
